The Real Band Wagon
If you enjoy putting a slice of rubber around your wrist to support a cause that you pretend to care about, but secretly don't give a toss about it then you may, like me, have one of the spectacular Beat-Bullying wristbands that everyone seems to have nowadays
These are so brilliant - and there are so many reasons why. First off - they are FREE. That means you don't have to pay any money to charity, so you are the sole person to benefit. Score one for poor people. You don't have to pay, as they claim they are raising awareness for their cause. And I must say it's working. Before this big band campaign I had never even heard of bullying or the problems it causes. I thought it was the technical term for Spanish Bull Fighting.
The next reason is - Celebrities - they support the cause, so it must be cool. I'll give you a few examples of the bastions of this most important of causes
/\Look - it's that guy who was funny for a while and now isn't as funny anymore. He's so desperate for some publicity that by having the band on his wrist will ensure that issues get exposure in the Daily Star
/\Hey - even if you fancy boys you can raise awareness.
/\Even drug cheats are getting in on the act. May God Bless You Rio.
So now they have raised the awareness - I hear there is going to be a special band which actually solves the problem.
EDIT: Sorry - there won't be one of those - it would actually take too much effort.
